Nothing Could Be Harder

Well, I have started the process of "learning" Samoan. Reed has told me for years how difficult it would be. Yesterday I was completely determined to master at least a few basic phrases. I studied for a couple of hours and felt like I was making great progress. I determined this morning that my goal today would be simply to be able to pronounce words (close to) correctly even if I didn't know what they meant. I got up this morning and looked at a book and guess what?--it all looked like a foreign language. You know, I can barely speak English at times--I have a bad feeling about this! Pray for me. You best pray for Reed too because he is going to need a major dose of patience.
